Complete lyrics, stanzas, and pipe organ accompaniment • Hymns Ancient & Modern

1
When I survey the wondrous
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on ail my pride.
2
Forbid it. Lord, that I should boast
Save in the Cross of Christ my God :
All the vain things that charm me
I sacrifice them to His Blood,
3
See from His Head, His Hands,
His Feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingling down;
Did e'er such love and sorrow meet.
4
thorns compose so rich a crown ?
V, ere the whole realm of nature
That were an offering far too small ;
Love so amazing, so Divine,
5
Demands my BOW, my life, my all.
1 mf To Christ, Who won for sinners
-ace
y bitter grief and anguish sore.
Be praise bum all the ransom "d race
For ever and for evermore.
5
Amen.
