Complete lyrics, stanzas, and pipe organ accompaniment • Hymns Ancient & Modern

1
Stars of the morning, so gloriously
Fill u with celestial virtu3 and light,
These that, where night never fol-
loweth day,
2
p Raise the "Trisagion"* ever and
aye:
These are Thy ministers, these dost
Thou own,
3
Lord God of Sabaoth, nearest Thy
Throne ;
These are Thy messengers, these dost
Thou send.
4
Help of the helpless ones ! man to
e'fend.
In Greek, from which this Hymn is
translated, " Trisacion " is the sume as
5
the Latin " Tersaac:u» "' and the English
" Thrice-Holy.
These keep the guard amidst Salem's
ear bowers.
6
Thrones, Principalities, Virtues, and
Powers,
Where, with the Living Ones, mystical
Four,
7
Cherubim, Seraphim (p) bow and
adore.
Then, when the earth was first
oised in mid space,
8
Then, when the planets first sped on
their race,
Then, when were ended the six days'
employ,
9
Then ad the Sons of God shouted
or joy.
Still let them succour us ; still let
them fight,
10
Lord of Angelic hosts, battling for
Till, where their anthems they cease-
lessly pour,
We with the Angels may (p) bow and
adore.
10
Amen.
