A&M Hymn #443: For man the Saviour shed

Complete lyrics, stanzas, and pipe organ accompaniment • Hymns Ancient & Modern

1
These, before God's Throne who
Each a golden crown is wearing,
Who are ail this glorious band?
Alleluia, hark ! they sing,
2
Praising loud their heavenly King.
Who are these in dazzling bright-
Clothed in God's own righteousness.
These, whose robes of purest whiteness
3
Shall their lustre stnl possess,
Still untouch'd by time's rude
hand ? [band ?
Whence came all this glorious
4
ALL SAINTS' DAY.
These are they who have contended
For their Saviour's honour long,
Wrestling on till life was ended,
5
Following not the sinful throng :
These, who well the fight sustam'd,
Triumph by tne Lamb have gain'd.
These are they whose hearts were
6
Sore with woe and anguish tried,
Who in prayer full oft have striven
With the God they glorified ;
Now, their painful conflict o'er,
7
God has bid them weep no more.
?nf These, the Almighty contemplat-
Did as priests before Him stand,
Soul and body always waiting
8
Day and night at His command :
Now in God's most holy place
Blest they stand before His Face.
8
Amen.
