A&M Hymn #596: O Saviour! when Thy loving Hand

Complete lyrics, stanzas, and pipe organ accompaniment • Hymns Ancient & Modern

1
573 " The Lord made all things."
All thinsrs bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
2
The Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings.
He made their glowing colours,
3
He made their tiny wings.
The rich man in his castle.
The poor man at his sate,
God made them, high or lowly,
4
And order 'd their estate.
The purple-headed mountain,
The river running by.
The sunset and the morning,
5
That brightens up the sky ;—
The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun.
Tne ripe fruits in the garden.—
6
He made them every one ;
FOR THE YOUNG.
Thevdo not hear when the great
Is ringing overhead ;
7
They cannot rise and come to Church
With us, for they are dead.
But we believe a day shall come
When all the dead will rise,
8
When they who sleep down in the
grave
Will ope again their eyes.
For Christ our Lord was buried
9
once,
He died and rose again,
He conquer'd death, He left the
grave ;
10
And so will Christian men.
So when the friends We love the
Lie in their churchyard bed,
We must not cry too bitterly
11
Over the happy dead ;
Because, for our dear Saviour's
sake,
Our sins are all forgiven ;
And Christians onlv fail asleep
To wake again in Heav'n.
11
Amen.
