A&M Hymn #74: Father, let me dedicate

Complete lyrics, stanzas, and pipe organ accompaniment • Hymns Ancient & Modern

1
Father, let me dedicate
All this year to Thee,
In whatever worldly state
Thou wilt have me be :
2
Not from sorrow, pain, or care
Freedom dare I claim ;
This alone shall be my prayer,
Glorify Thy Name.
3
wj/Can a child presume to choose
Where or how to live ?
Can a Father's love refuse
All the best to give?
4
More Thou givest even- day
Than the best can claim,
Nor withholdest audit that may
Glorify Thy Name.
5
If in mercy Thou wilt spare
Joys that yet are mine ;
If on life, serene and fair,
Brighter rays may shine :
6
Let my glad heart, while it sings,
Thee in all proclaim,
And, whate'er the future Isrings,
Glorify Thy Name.
7
NEW YEAR'S DAY.
" The Life was manifested, and v:c hive
75 seen it."
How vain the cruel Herod's fear.
8
When told that Christ the King is
near !
He takes not earthly realms away,
Who gives the realms that ne'er decay.
9
The Eastern sages saw from far
And follow'd on His guiding star ;
By light their way to Light they trod,
And by their gifts confess'd their Gob.
10
Within the Jordan's sacred flood
The heavenly Lamb in meekness stood,
That He, to Whom no sin was known,
Might cleanse His people from theLr
11
And oh, what miracle Divine,
When water redden'd into wine !
He spake the word, and forth it flow'd
In streams that nature ne'er bestow'd.
12
All glory. Jesu, be to Thee
For this Thy glad Epiphany :
Whom with the Father we adore
And Holy Ghost for evermore.
12
Amen.
